1990 — PURPOSE OVER COMFORT
Rino Jonay left Switzerland — one of the richest countries in the world — and returned to post-communist Albania, choosing responsibility over comfort and bringing his knowledge to help rebuild a country in transition.
He invested in culture, fitness, business development, and construction — helping modernize multiple sectors during a fragile moment in the nation’s recovery.
1992–1996 — BUILDING MODERN INDUSTRY
He created Albania’s first Disco Club, modern fitness, media and entertainment platforms, and developed one of the earliest large-scale construction and materials operations in the country — becoming one of Albania’s most successful entrepreneurs of the time.
His goal was simple:
to build — not to take.
1997 — COLLAPSE — THE PYRAMID CRISIS & CIVIL UNREST
When state-linked pyramid schemes collapsed, Albania descended into chaos.
Institutions failed. Weapons depots were looted. Public order collapsed.
Citizens turned into targets.
Rino’s success — and his independence — made him a threat.
A planned assassination attempt took place.
A close friend — sitting in Rino’s car in his place — was shot and killed.
Rino survived only because fate — and his brother’s insistence — kept him away from the meeting.
He lost everything.
But what hurt most was not the loss of wealth.
It was this:
No one was held accountable.
Power failed — and truth died in silence.
This moment planted the seed of Impunity.

Forced to leave his home once again, he moved to the United States — rebuilding his life from nothing — carrying with him one conviction:
